If you head out to the Casa Grande Senior Care center Tuesday to see country singer Kim McAbee, you'll hear the "world's only Buckararette" perform. Come again? McAbee was the only female member of the late Buck Owens band, dubbed "The Buckaroos" by the country music legend. McAbee is touring in support of her new single, "American Boys," from an album was produced by Craig Morgan's producer, Phil O'Donnell, and Mike Johnson. Because the performance is in such a small venue, McAbee will perform a scaled-down, acoustic version of her show. The album also features the duet "I'll Still Be Waiting For You," the last recording of Owens' career. McAbee and Owens performed together for 10 years at Bakersfield's Crystal Palace. "Performing with Buck was such an honor," McAbee said. "You couldn't ask for a better teacher than him. I was just really blessed." You can check out MP3s and videos of McAbee performing at www.kimmcabee.com. Details: Kim McAbee performs at 3 p.m. at Casa Grande Senior Care, 347. E. Walnut Ave. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. |

April 23,2007 New Music Weekly Review Rated ***** |
That's What I'm Talkin' About/Kim McAbee While this album was actually recorded in Tennesse rather than California, it does have West Coast tie to it. First of all, Kim McAbee is from Fresno. Then, for the past decade or so, has been "The World's Only Buckarette,' as a member of Buck Owen's Buckaroos at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. With credentials like that, you have to figure that her debut album would be something special. She did exactly just that... and then some!!! She has a little bit of help from some of Music City's best musician's, as well as producers Phil O'Donnell (Craig Morgan) and Mike Johnson. An excellent job was done selecting the songs on the disc, as they all are a strong vehicle for McAbee's voice.. She get a chance to showcase her frisky side in up-tempo tracks like "It Ain't Workin' On Me" as well as the spunky "American Boys," and her vocal on "Barely" proves that some fun was had in the making of THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT. Glen Duncan offers some nice work on the fiddle on that particular track, as well. On "You Should Have Been There," a radio friendly track if I have ever heard one, she adds the right touch of irony. things are going well for her in every aspect of her life. She also shines bright on the ballads as well. The underappreciated Tempelton Thompson (remember that name!) contributes "Doesn't Always Have To End This Way," a cut on which McAbee offer a lovely, torch- like vocal. She strike a hopeful tone on the Larry Stewart-written "It's Just A Cup Of Coffee" and gives a lovely touch to the title track, about a love that never grows old. She pays homage to the boss Buck Owens in his last recording session. She knocks this one out of the proverbial ballpark, as well as on the laid-back "That Wall's Too High Too High To Climb," a stunner of equal proportion, as well. Kim McAbee has shared the stage with some of the best musicians of all time, and it shows on the CD. She, just like her mentor, knows that you're only as good as those around you, and with such instrumentalist as Duncan, B. James Lowry, and Ediie Bayers, she stands center stage with an album that is almost sure to take her to the next level. |

About:Country MusicKim McAbee - That's What I'm Talkin' AboutFrom Jack Loews Guide Rating -If you don't know the name Kim McAbee, you will. This talented lady may be new to country radio, but she is a veteran of the country music scene. Also known as the "World's Only Buckarette," she's no stranger to country music fans, especially in Bakersfield California. Her debut CD on Soigne Records entitled That's What I'm Talkin' About is a beautiful blend of fun up tempo country songs as well as perfectly crafted heartfelt ballads. Keep your eye on this talented lady. You will be hearing lots more from her in the future. Kim is one of those true country performers who delivers a song as if she's lived every word that she is singing. Her vocal style is very reminiscent of the 60's and 70's country performer Lynn Anderson. A true pleasure and joy to listen to over and over again. This is what country music is supposed to sound like! |

"This stately ballad (I’ll Still Be Waiting for You) gets an appropriately soulful reading by Buck Owens protege Kim. She delivers the goods with a penetrating, pitch-perfect and soaring delivery. The late Buck provides a strong vocal harmony on the chorus. A winner." |

| September 23 2006 | McAbee drives though Texas with her Dirt Road Heartache Soigne Records recording artist Kim McAbee is currently on an all extensive radio tour throughout Texas promoting her current single Dirt Road Heartache off of her Thats What Im Talkin About album. Kim stopped off at KYYK in Palestine, TX while on her tour. Pictured with Kim and the promotional giveaway car is KYYKs Program Director Buddy Jackson. Thats What Im Talkin About showcases McAbees peppery style into perfect alignment with both up tempo songs as well as heart wrenching ballads. Produced by Mike Johnson and Phil ODonnell, That's What I'm Talkin' About is a mix of thoughtfully blended songs whose lyrics express lifes journey. Her current single Dirt Road Heartache deals with lost love and the fact that there is Freedom in these two headlights shining through the dust, waiting past the memory of us, that keeps you from turning back. |

The single is receiving a strong reception at radio and was recently added to KVOX radio in Fargo, North Dakota. McAbee was recently featured in Country Weekly Magazine, just prior to her mentor, Buck Owens’ passing. McAbee was performing with Owens at the time of his death. “It’s been very difficult to carry on since Buck’s passing. But, the one thing he taught me was to pursue my dreams. Buck was greatly involved in radio and I’m sure he’s looking down at me and saying, “Go Girl.” He always encouraged me to take my music to as many people as humanly possible and I’m sure he’d be proud of me today as I head for Texas to begin this radio tour,” stated McAbee. |

| June 22 2006 | McAbee's "Dirt Road Heartache" at Radio
Kim McAbee Takes Her "Dirt Road Heartache" to Radio Releasing Second Single from Her "That's What I'm Talkin' About" CD Nashville, TN - Soigné Records recording artist, Kim McAbee has released her second single from her "That's What I'm Talkin' About" project to radio and is currently going for ads at radio. "2006 has been both one of the best and worst years of my career. I lost my mentor and dear friend, Buck Owens, and this same year, I released my new project." It's been difficult for Kim to continue on, with the passing of Owens, but she feels this is what he would have wanted her to do. The California based brunette is a dedicated performer. She is known as the ‘only Buck-a-rette" a title she's earned by being the world's only female member ever in the infamous "Buck-a-roos," She's performed with the band at Owens' Crystal Palace for the past 10 years. "It's every singer's dream to be on a label and have a record out", noted Kim in a recent Country Weekly interview (April 24, 2006). But I never made the move to Nashville, because I had this steady job working for this huge country music legion (Buck Owens) and I had two kids to support. When this opportunity to do an album came along (That's What I'm Talkin' About - Soigné Records) though, I couldn't pass it up." "Dirt Road Heartache" is currently at radio stations nationally. |
